LeJeune Johnson, LCSW-S, PMH-C, is the Executive Director and visionary force behind Therapy Plus, established in 2014 to reduce health disparities and improve access to quality, culturally responsive wellness and mental healthcare. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, LeJeune has dedicated her career to uplifting marginalized communities—particularly in the areas of mental health, maternal health, and family wellness.
Her work spans multiple systems, including pivotal roles with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she provided trauma-informed care to veterans; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she serves as a national consultant and trainer supporting state teams in launching maternal mortality informant interview programs; and the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services, where she championed initiatives to protect vulnerable children and support families in crisis.
LeJeune also served at the Mississippi State Department of Health, helping build infrastructure for perinatal health and maternal mortality review efforts. She currently supports the Louisiana Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review (PAMR) Committee as a qualitative expert, working to amplify the lived experiences of families affected by maternal loss and near-miss events.
Through Therapy Plus, LeJeune blends her clinical expertise with public health innovation, launching programs that integrate mental health support with social determinants of health. She is deeply committed to building systems of care that are rooted in compassion, informed by community voices, and driven by a vision of equity and healing for all.
