Holding Space: A Symposium on Maternal Mental Health
Mississippi continues to face urgent maternal health challenges—and perinatal mental health is a critical part of the solution. This trauma-informed, one-day symposium brings together clinicians, social workers, nurses, doulas, community health workers, and advocates committed to improving care for expecting and postpartum mothers.
Rooted in compassion and evidence-based practice, the symposium equips attendees with practical skills to recognize, respond to, and link mothers to timely and culturally responsive support. Through storytelling, case-based learning, and harm-reduction strategies, participants will gain tools to reduce stigma, facilitate warm handoffs, and strengthen the continuum of care from community to clinic.
CEUs: Social Work — 6 hours | Nursing — 6 contact hours
